New Gardening Knee Pads Offer Water Resistant Cushioning

Pete Bowes, the co-founder and product designer behind Palmate Gardening, is an acknowledged expert on the material known as neoprene. Recently, he pointed out at least two advantages of incoporating this material in his knee pad design that most consumers often overlook.

Keep in mind that the benefits trickle down to the manufacturing process of the knee pads. Bowes admittedly spend many hours on his knees, so much so that he developed some health issues. The soil in Florida tends to be uneven, and since it is the place Pete spends most of his time, he needed to come up with a solution.

Bulky or slippery knee pads would be quite counterproductive for the mobile gardener. In most cases, Pete preferred going to the ground with bare knees than using any of the inferior products. Another issue was the washability, especially for foam pads that flake when in contact with water.

The need for a stronger and durable material was evident and that’s why neoprene comes in handy. With a team of 3 individuals, although considered small in the industry standards, Bowes started developing knee pads made from neoprene for a period of 1.5 years. The Palmate Gardening knee pads were manufactured after Bowes noticed the growing demand for comfortable and non-slippery product. By 2013 winter season, he went into production of the knee pads to what we see today on the market.

The company is proud to produce product that stand out from the competitor's brands. They strive to connect with the clients through the blog, online store, and also online media. Consumers looking for the neoprene garden knee pads can find them on Amazon and approved third party sites.
