"We wanted to launch a directory that follows all the elements that we know are popular online, but adds something else to it as well," says Steve Richardson from My Local Services. "This is why, on our directory, businesses can ask to be listed and people can review the service that they have received, just as with other directories. In addition, we also allow businesses to post events, and we have included a business forum. This is something new that we feel will be of great benefit to businesses and customers all over the country."
The business forum in particular has been very popular. Various subjects have been opened up for discussion and these are considered to be beneficial for starting businesses that are looking for things, such as legal assistance, accounting tips, marketing advice, technology, and more. Any topic can be discussed, including those things that have nothing to do directly with businesses.
Similarly, the events page has been very well received. It provides an opportunity for businesses to market themselves and to have specific elements of their business reviewed. "When I've emailed I've received a quick, polite and efficient response and when I've spoken to people they too are polite, knowledgeable and quickly resolved my issue.
